The Final Exam is Blue Prince's most demanding puzzle — 46 multiple-choice questions across Geography, History, Math, and the Erajan language, with a 30-minute real-time timer and no second chances. Triggered by placing the ninth Classroom in a single run, the exam awards the prestigious Diploma Trophy if you earn an A grade. Quick reference: Drafting Studio unlocks the Classroom plan. Schoolhouse outer room raises the Classroom pool to 8 per draft. Place 9 Classrooms in one run → 30-min open-book exam → 46 multiple choice → A grade (miss ≤ 2–3) = Diploma Trophy.

Setup: Three Unlocks Required

  1. Unlock the Drafting Studio. Found via the standard estate progression. This is where you unlock new room floor plans, including the Classroom.
  2. Unlock the Classroom floor plan. Inside the Drafting Studio, spend a charge to add Classroom to the draft pool. Without this unlock, you cannot draft a single Classroom — let alone nine.
  3. Place the Schoolhouse outer room. The Schoolhouse is the outer-area expansion that raises the Classroom draft pool from 1 to 8 per day. With it, drafting nine Classrooms in a single day becomes possible (8 from a fresh pool + 1 carry-over via a re-roll item or second draft phase).
You cannot prep across days. All nine Classrooms must be placed in a single run. The exam fires the moment the ninth Classroom is placed.

Exam Rules

  • 46 multiple-choice questions.
  • 30-minute real-time timer. The clock keeps running even when you're exploring other rooms.
  • Open book. You may leave the Classroom mid-exam and walk to any other room — Library, Chapel, classroom slides — to check clues.
  • Answers lock on selection. The moment you click an option, that answer is final. No editing.
  • One attempt per day. Triggering the exam consumes the day. If you don't finish in time or quit, the exam ends with your current selections graded.

Strategy: How to Actually Get an A

  1. Have answers ready on a second screen. 30 minutes is tight if you're hunting clues from scratch. The community consensus is to keep a guide open.
  2. Walk the Library first. Spend the first 4 minutes pulling the books mentioned in the questions (The Red Prince, Realm and Rune, The Fixed Stars are commonly referenced).
  3. Save Math for last. The math questions are calculator-fast once you focus on them — bank them at minute 25 to absorb leftover time.
  4. Keep at least one gem in inventory per Classroom. Drafting Classrooms costs gems; running dry before the ninth Classroom can lock you out.

Final Exam FAQ

Does the timer pause if I leave the room? No. Real-time only. The 30 minutes count while you're exploring.
Can I retake the exam in the same run? No. Once the day ends with the exam triggered, it's graded and locked. Re-take requires another full run with nine Classrooms.
What if I run out of time? Unanswered questions are graded as wrong. Time pressure is the main reason most runs end at B or C.
Is the Diploma Trophy required for anything? Not for endings. It's a collector's trophy — relevant for 100% completion and the in-game scrapbook.
