Blue Prince — All Endings

Spoiler warning. This page reveals all three endings and the conditions for each. Stop reading if you want to discover them yourself.

Blue Prince has three distinct endings. Each requires its own dedicated run — you cannot trigger more than one per save day. The endings build on each other narratively: Standard reveals the surface story, Forgotten Wing reveals M. Holly's backstory, and the True Ending closes the loop.

Standard Ending — Room 46

The first ending most players reach. Triggered by entering Room 46 for the first time.

  1. Satisfy the three Room 46 conditions on one day: Vault opened, Observatory lit, Brass Key in hand.
  2. Walk to the West Wing's far wall.
  3. Use the Brass Key on the outline.
  4. Enter Room 46. The day pauses and the Standard Ending cinematic plays.

What you learn: The room contains the architect's blueprint and a recording from M. Holly explaining the surface mystery of Mt. Holly. Credits-equivalent screen rolls. After this, the Antechamber unlocks in your draft pool.

Forgotten Wing Ending — Parlor Route

Triggered by reading three journal fragments behind the Parlor's hidden door.

  1. Solve the Parlor riddle. Default answer: SMOKE (see Parlor guide).
  2. The bookshelf slides aside, revealing the Forgotten Wing — a 3-room corridor.
  3. Enter each of the three rooms and read the journal fragment in each. The pages are on small desks marked with a wax seal.
  4. After reading all three, return to the Parlor entrance. The Forgotten Wing Ending cinematic plays.

What you learn: M. Holly's personal letters reveal she designed the mansion's puzzle structure as a memorial — the entire estate is an elaborate riddle for a single visitor: her grandson, the player.

Order matters: Read the fragments in chronological order (each is dated). Wrong order does not trigger the ending — you'll just learn fragments but no cinematic plays. Look at the date stamps before reading.

True Ending — Crown of Mt. Holly

The deepest ending. Requires the Cellar (Mine layer 4), which itself requires the Brass Key + 12+ Gems on hand when descending.

  1. Reach Mine layer 3 and pick up the Brass Key. Do not use it yet.
  2. Continue descending. Layer 4 will appear only if you have the Brass Key in inventory and 12+ Gems on hand.
  3. At layer 4, the Cellar room opens. Inside is a pedestal holding the Crown of Mt. Holly.
  4. Pick up the Crown.
  5. Surface and walk to Room 46 (the standard route). The Crown changes the Room 46 cutscene — the True Ending cinematic plays instead of the Standard.

What you learn: The Crown turns the mansion's lore upside-down. The "draft" mechanic is revealed as something deeper than randomness — every room you ever drafted was being remembered by the house itself.

You only get one shot per day: The Cellar closes after you take the Crown. If you exit before reaching Room 46 (e.g., by sleeping), the True Ending opportunity is lost for that run — the Crown is consumed on day end. Plan a single day where you Mine, Workshop, Vault, Observatory, and West Wing all in sequence.

Ending Comparison

EndingDifficultyDays to ReachKey ItemCinematic Length
StandardMedium6–10Brass Key~3 min
Forgotten WingEasy4–6None — just the Parlor solve~5 min
True EndingHard15–25Crown of Mt. Holly~9 min + post-credits

Recommended Order

  1. Forgotten Wing first. Easiest, gives you the lore context for everything else.
  2. Standard Ending second. The natural conclusion of Room 46.
  3. True Ending last. Hardest, and most rewarding only after you understand the lore from the first two.

Endings FAQ

How many endings does Blue Prince have? Three: Standard, Forgotten Wing, and True Ending.
Do endings carry over between saves? Yes. Each ending you trigger is permanently recorded on that save file. You can see which you've seen on the main menu after credits.
Is there a secret fourth ending? Datamined files suggest none. As of the current version (May 2026), three is canonical.
Can I get all three in one run? No. Each requires a dedicated day's path.
